Why engaged women should get to know Anderson Cooper

If you turn on the nightly news, sometimes it can seem overwhelming. There’s so much going on, and a great deal of it is about pain, conflict and disappointment. So why on earth would you want to stay in the loop at a happy time when you’re planning a wedding? Here are three good reasons.

1) just because you’re planning a ceremony and a party doesn’t mean you’re no longer a member of your community, or a citizen of the world. Keep at least one ear out for what’s going on outside of the World Wide Wedisphere.

2) building on 1, not everybody wants to hear the latest developments in your wedding centerpiece development. It’s handy to be conversant in what the rest of the world’s been up to.

3) and building on 2, your friends and family will be so grateful that there are non wedding thoughts in your head. Try bringing up other topics of conversation- watch the relief spread across the dinner table.

Live well, and love well.

The Wedding Movie of the Week: Hilarious Comedy- Bridesmaids

Can you talk awesome wedding movies without the brilliant 2011 comedy Bridesmaids coming up? I think not.  Bridesmaids was a triple threat: a chick flick with enough gross out comedy to keep fiancés laughing too, AND it proved to Hollywood that YES women go to the movies and spend as much as 14 year old boys, so make us some stuff with good storylines and characters, OK?  This one’s a surefire hit with the whole wedding party.  It certainly it made the My LittleFlower Shop staff crack up. Enjoy!

Breakfast Really Is Important.

Why do we need to start the day with food in our belly? Well there’s the whole fuel for your body angle, but we’re going a little more metaphysical here.  Feeding yourself makes you feel more centered.  By eating, you’ve made fruit-platter-425time to take care of yourself in a super-basic way, but you’ve also set an unconscious precedent. You’re learning to take the time you need to take care of you.  The habit of treating oneself well isn’t an easy one to learn, but if you make the tiny change of stopping for a brief spot of “you” time every morning, you’ll be on your way.  Breakfast is the beginning of your day. And as a wise lyricist once wrote, the beginning is a very good place to start.

Be well, and love well.
