Choosing wedding vendors who are friendly…with each other

Finding friendly wedding vendors in Palm Springs is a must, but it’s also important for everyone to work well together. Why hire a caterer that’s your DJ’s friend? And how are you supposed to know, anyway? Read on.

Why hire wedding vendors who know & like each other?

Wedding professionals are just that: professional, so we’ll work well with anyone. Like any group of people, however, we make close, lifelong friends among our colleagues. And admit it – don’t you have more fun if you’re working with friends?

How to tell if your wedding vendors work well together:

Wedding vendors in Palm Springs will recommend each other. Listen closely: is it an acquaintance or did they have lunch yesterday? Find one vendor you “vibe” with, and ask who they like to work with. For people you already like, ask “I really want my vendors to gel – have you worked with Bob’s Photography?” and gauge the reaction.

Good wedding vendors won’t be shy about sharing talented vendor friends’ names and references to other couples that have used them. Vendors having fun = a great event, so ask your vendors today!

My Little Flower Shop is the premier Palm Springs florist. We have been providing the finest flowers and event services for weddings, parties and delivery in the Desert Cities since 2010.

Favorite wedding movie! Bend it Like Beckham – a winner.

There are epic weddings in Bollywood films, but for today we’re sticking to the charming Bend It Like Beckham a coming-of-age/girl-power/family dramedy about a young woman wanting to fit in, but stay true to herself.  Played against the background of her older sister’s wedding preparations, it’s a lovely tale of friendship, family, and learning to accept each other for who we are.  Enjoy: Bend It Like Beckham

Customize your event venue

A recent bat mitzvah client’s thoughts on the synagogue social hall “It’s ugly!” she moaned “and boring.”  She didn’t understand the first law of event décor: Make a venue what you want it.*

Truth be told, any space can look exactly like you dream it up. Using drapery, carpet, backdrops and the right budget we could turn a roller rink into a ballroom at Versailles. On a smaller scale,  many elements can change the look of a room

Lighting: use targeted lighting to highlight strengths – pin spots on floral arrangements or unique architectural features, a pattern on the dance floor.

Linen & tabletop:  Use lush textured or bright colored tablecloths to draw the eye towards the center of the room. Try overlays, and china that pops with gold or silver chargers. Once the flatware and stemware is added, your tables will be like jewels drawing in the guests.

Dramatic florals:  Flowers pull focus like nothing else. Dramatic buffet pieces, tall centerpieces, suspended arrangements mid-air, get creative to pull the eye away from that fire exit in the corner.

*check with your venue for décor restrictions.
