Wedding Centerpiece Peace Of Mind

One day, a bride arrived at My Little Flower Shop in complete panic mode. People were asking about her wedding centerpieces, and everyone was horrified to learn that (gasp!) she had no earthly idea.

Her mother had obviously watched too many Katherine Heigel movies about girls longing for the big day, and having detailed plans worked out in their heads. The rest of the craziness making this poor girl feel underprepared must have been a combination of pressure from the bridal magazines, wedding shows, and probably well-meaning friends and family just wanting to feel like they are a part of things.

But here’s the point: if you don’t know what you want…that’s ok. You’ll still have a beautiful wedding. As you settle in to the role of “bride-to-be” you’ll find inspiration all over the place. Hotel lobbies, elegant department stores, anywhere you like the “feel” of, get that phone out and snap a few photos. Soon enough you’ll have an idea of what you love, and what you hate.

So resist the idea that you must know, right away exactly what everything will look like. Let it go, and embrace some Wedding centerpiece Peace of Mind

Gerbera Daisy Crazy! Centerpiece, Bouquet, Invite Daisies To Your Wedding!

Wedding magazines are full of breathtakingly beautiful flower arrangement photos. Bouquets good enough to eat. And they are, actually. Though stunning, for the price of one of those arrangements, you could feed a family of five for a week.

The magazines sometimes just aren’t in touch with reality when it comes to the fact that there are brides on budgets out there.  And while the trend of all baby’s breath arrangements is very “couture” in the eye of some beholders, it causes allergic sneezing in the noses of others. Besides, there’s no color there whatsoever. What’s a bride to do for centerpieces?

All sorts of options for wonderful wedding centerpieces with Gerber daisies.

Why ProFlowers Is Embarrassing Me. (Hint: It’s Not The Terrible Arrangement In The Watering Can)

Don’t get me wrong.The pseudo-english-garden-in-a-pink-watering-can is pretty bad. But no, Proflowers.Com is making floral professionals mad by sponsoring Rush Limbaugh’s radio show despite the hideous garbage he’s been spewing. Floral Professionals cannot be lumped into one political group.  We can, however generally be united under the banner of “flowers and floral designers’ job is to make people happy.” We’re a pro-happiness bunch.

Our job as floral designers is to enhance life. To make it more beautiful, more meaningful and more fragrant. Not to spread ugliness and negativity. Come on ProFlowers, get with the ProGram.  Be pro-flowers, pro-love, pro-happiness.
